ILKARI - The Flinders Conservation Group Inc
ILKARI is the campus environment group,
established in 1990 with the broad aim of conserving and
restoring the natural environment. We employ the "think
globally, act locally" principle, and invite any interested
person to attend meetings and join our activities. We aim to
bring together people of many different kinds to work on
environmental projects: students, academics and general staff,
local community groups and expert professionals from diverse
sources. Our projects are carried out using a combination of
formal student research projects, volunteer efforts and input
from the Union, Student's Association and the Administration. We
take on a variety of projects, reflecting the interests of
members, and aim to achieve tangible results in a reasonable
time. We meet weekly in the Conservation Centre (Undercroft,
opposite Music Listening Centre) and at various additional times
(see Hot Tips for meeting details).
