Expertise
Laurence has extensive experience working in research (and teaching) positions at Flinders University, and several years in positions with the SA Department of Treasury and Finance and has been engaged in a variety of tasks—which predominantly require the application of economic theory and knowledge and/or statistical and econometric methods. He has extensive knowledge of the analysis of large data sets, and has recently applied advanced econometric methods to analyse of the LSIA (in his recent PhD thesis, entitled ‘Measuring, Modelling, and Monitoring the Dynamics of Labour Market Success and Successful Settlement of Immigrants to Australia’). He is currently using the HILDA data as an ongoing contribution to the Australian Health Inequities Program (AHIP) NHMRC Capacity Building grant.
