Preparation for Teaching Secondary Psychology

The School of Psychology offers a continuing education program, Preparation for Teaching Secondary Psychology, designed to prepare teachers to teach psychology as a senior subject in secondary schools. The program is completed externally over a 3-month period. Although it is tailored to the curriculum of the South Australian Certificate of Education, the material is applicable to most secondary psychology curricula in Australia and overseas. Eligible applicants should have a university degree or other relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Certificate). Completion of this program meets the prerequisite for entry into the Graduate Diploma in Psychology.

The School offers teachers already teaching secondary psychology in schools ongoing training through seminars and workshops. The ongoing educational tools are available to all teachers to access.
