Dr. Ruth Walker

(BA Hons (Otago), PhD (Adelaide)

Research Interests

My research interests are focused primarily on the social context of ageing including the impact of social relationships, role transitions and ‘place’ on older people’s health. My current post-doctoral research is funded by the Australian Research Council (Linkage). In collaboration with Mary Luszcz, I am exploring the psychological and socio-environmental context of spousal relationships among couples in the Australian Longitudinal Study of Ageing. I am also currently examining the social origins of sleep difficulties among older women.
