Professor Carl-Olof Cederlund is Sweden's leading maritime archaeologist. He started
work as an archaeologist on the VASA in 1961 and will be giving public lectures
on the VASA at the Australian National Maritime Museum, the WA Maritime Museum
and the SA Maritime Museum during his visit to Australia in late November 2002.
He has worked on many underwater archaeological sites in Sweden including the
700 year old cog at Oskarhamn, Sweden. He has published in IJNA, the ICMM Proceedings
and the Underwater Archaeology Proceedings from the SHA Conference. Professor
Cederlund is responsible for establishing the teaching of maritime archaeology
in Sweden, first at the University of Stockholm and more recently at the South
Stockholm University College.
