Short Course for Field Educators: 2009

This course is offered as part of the School's commitment to the development of expertise in social work supervision and in recognition of the contribution that field educators make to the social work teaching programs.

Topics will include:

  • The process of teaching learning & assessment in the practicum
  • Reflection of supervisory experiences
  • The supervisory relationship
  • Teaching and learning approaches and models of supervision
  • Working with difference
  • Ethical issues in supervision.

The course has been structured to provide participants the opportunity to practice and develop their skills though role play and small group exerises. The course has been developed keeping in mind that participants will have varying degrees of knowledge and experience with supervision of staff and/or students.
